Could you tell me something about the name of this plant? The picture was taken last summer.

I'd agree with Maurillo. It's a very nice plant, which will clump into a number of stems each up to about 15cm long as it ages. Is it in a 5cm pot? It will soon need more room, as it is quite a fast grower.

Maurillo, Chris - thank you very much for your help. These plants are a gift from a friend of mine who sown them about five years ago. They are growing in 5 cm pots now.

I wonder if M. rekoi aureispina is the best option. On the photo the plant looks more globular than cylindrical and I thought that M. rekoi aureispina always is somewhat cylindrical. Also, M. rekoi aureispina is self-fertile. Leszek, are the fruits formed spontaneously? Perhaps we better wait until the plant gets larger and determination becomes easier. Would M. rhodantha/discolor/wiesingeri (or something close to these) not be a better guess?
Wolter.

At 5 years old and only in a 5cm pot, I would not be sure any longer about rekoi aurispina. I had assumed that this was a young seedling, no more than 3 years and would grow taller. I think I need t think again!!
