I suspect that your plant is just a little unusual. I have seen flowers of a species vary a fair bit. Maybe a picture would help here, if you can work you way through the posting process (details of how to do so are in the "Guidance, How to" section).
M. bocasana flowers are normally yellow-cream with the outer sepals reddish. There are pink forms of this as well in cultivation. The degree of variability of hairiness also varies enormously, but I wonder if your plant might be M. bocasana ssp. eschauzieri?
