Subject: Please help ID my mammillaria

Hi! Can you please help me identify this mammillaria?
And I was also wondering, are the red fruits edible? I tried tasting one, tasted pretty good.

Looks like mammillaria prolifera. Yes, the fruits are edible, as are most fruits from mammillarias.

I have suggested m. prolifera as the fruit was said to be red, whereas m.vetula's are normally pink
