Mammillaria crassimammillis - type locality Aramberri, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Repp. 1790. Also collected by Lau from Aramberri his field number L1069.
Body: Caespitose, flattened globular, 20-40mm high x 40-70mm wide.
Tubercles: Pyramidal, 12-14mm long and wide, blue green, with milky sap.
Axils: with a little wool to naked.
Spines: 4-6, 2-8mm long, straight, smooth, yellow to brownish, tipped darker.
Flowers: Funnelform, 25-30mm long x 30-35mm wide, pale Yellow with a reddish brown stripe.
Fruit: Clavate, 20-25mm long x 6-8mm wide, reddish.
Seeds: Brown.
Reppenhagen compares this species to M. winteriae, the new species being smaller in the body, tubercles and spines.
