Hi, and welcome to the Forum.
I am having difficulty with this plant, as I don't recognise a white spined plant like this, with such a strong and thick dark upwards pointing central spine.
I wondered about andersoniana, but the radial spines are not right; then I wondered about a form of gracilis, with its chalky white spines, and of which there are many hybrids and cultivars. But I am not at all sure. Can you tell us the size of the plant, and if it has flowered?
I have also wondered if it is an Escobaria?
I'll have a look through my books to see I can find anything that looks like it.

The pot is 4.5x4.5, diameter of each head 2 cm, high 4 cm. It hasn`t flowered. It could be a hybrid or cultivar - I bought it in supermarket..., but it like this plant

Hello Paul,
the plant is a real jewel. I have also not yet seen something similar like this.
Flowers would be very important to be able to say about somewhat more exact.
A hybrid of M. gracilis? No I doesn't believe.
Chris, what do you mean to it if I say, an extreme form of a "elegans" or "meissneri"?
In any case I can imagine, that Paul likes the plant, I also do it.
____________
Greetings
Holger

Well, Paul,
I haven't found anything like it yet.
I don't think my suggestion of gracilis is right, looking at the spines.
Holger, I am not positive about your suggestion of a "elegans" or "meissneri" form. Again the spines don't look right, especially the tickness of the central spine.
It is a nice looking plant, but at the moment I am mystified!
