Cacti and Sukkulent in Köln, every day new flowers in the greenhouse Part 295

Good evening dear cacti-friends,

the last three months have been very challenging for me and my plants.
I had already reported that there are some mice in the greenhouses.
The plague got worse from week to week.
Many plants, old plants, beautiful plants were destroyed.
I have closed the mouse holes, put out poison, set up traps.
Nothing helped!
Every day the mice ate 0.5Kg of poison, none went into a trap.
Every day more dug up and eaten plants.
My despair grew little by little.
For this reason, I no longer wanted to show photos of the plants.

This is very disturbing. Have you considered hiring a professional pest control company to get rid of the mice?

thank You for your kind words!
Yes, I had consulted a professional exterminator.
Due to the specifics of my rooftop patio and the greenhouses being on wood floors,
he presented the options for driving the mice away as very difficult.
Highly potent poisons are no longer allowed in the EU.
Since the traps had also failed, he suggested sticky traps.
But that is out of the question for me.
I then thanked him and canceled - and saved 1.200,-€.

The mice had eaten the poison always "with pleasure", only it showed hardly effect.
They did not go into the traps, despite a wide variety of baits.
I thought about stopping the poison for three or four days.
Then I filled the traps with the poison. The success was very good.
Now I have not observed any new damage in the greenhouses.
Mice are still caught every day.
Let's see how it will continue - I will report.

The outdoor-dining has to go indoors.
The greenhouses and the office will fill up bit by bit.
