In this Forum.....

Thomas Linzen, in my opinion one of the greatest mammillaria-experts, discovered this species in 2012 and Lex Garcia named this species in honour of its discoverer. I think that it was in 2018 that Thomas saw this plant in flower, and then it was clear that this plant was a cochemiea. It is the only cochemiea from mainland Mexcio, all other cochemieas are from Baja California or its surrounding islands. For that reason, it is a very interesting species.
The area where it grows is not a desert, but actually a very green environment, it grows in deciduous tropical forest.

Wolter ten Hoeve.
