| One of two plants that I bought at ELK in 2006, this one has the straight spines. The hooked spine plant is also in bud but not yet open. and a closer look at the flower. | |

| Thanks Hugo, I wondered where that name fitted - odd though to use a name meaning pale to describe straight spined form - and the colour of the body and spines is no different between the two plants I have with hooked and without hooked spines. | |
