One of two plants that I bought at ELK in 2006, this one has the straight spines. The hooked spine plant is also in bud but not yet open.

This is what we call the palida form, with straight spines.

Thanks Hugo, I wondered where that name fitted - odd though to use a name meaning pale to describe straight spined form - and the colour of the body and spines is no different between the two plants I have with hooked and without hooked spines.
