A new acquisition this year, which has settled in very nicely. I have a very much smaller one also in flower this year, but this one is filling a 10cm pot now.

Mine is also flowering at the moment. This specie is so hard to get, I don't know why. Is it so difficult to raise from seed or is there no seed available?

It is difficult to get documented seed of this species. There was seed oftered on this year's, 2008, UK Mammillaria seedlist which came form Steve Brack. I sowed three packets and found no problem germinating the seed.

This plant came from Southfields, and I asked about seed source, and was told that it came from Mesa Garden, but without a field collection number. The Mammillaria Society seed offer was, I believe the same seed, but as Bill didn't give his usual detailed explanation of the seed I don't know whether the source is documented. Do you Mark?

There is no document source for this seed. For reference the Mesa Garden cat number is 686.5.
