m. dyckiana or m. chionocephala.

You are correct to refer m. dyckiana to m. haageana subsp. haageana, but is the plant in your photo actually this plant ?  To me it appears to be a plant akin to m. chionocephala. Regards Derek.

Yes delandmo, what you write is correct.
The plant shown is really very far from mammillaria haageana....

...... but this is his story.
The plant shown is from the collection of "Ento" and is very old.
Although I have the photos from a long time, which is why I never published.
I found, however, in two other old collections that I have visited in recent days other plants with this label, as I show below.
So i said to Chris that privately introduced me to the same doubt, do not understand what might have happened, but the Mammillaria dyckiana that was distributed in Italy many years ago is this ..

It is clear that this plant is far from original description by Pfeiffer.
These pictures show only sown or seedlings purchased 30 years ago in three different old Italian collections and so labelled.
Looking around the web I have not found, however, pictures of Mammillaria dyckiana.
Would be nice if someone could show the real dyckiana...
