No.13 m. hahniana Hello delandmo, thank you !!! Ah The No 13, is a problem, it is almost like a volley ball at the size, one of my friends, told me, that it is mammillaria parkinsonii, and it does not have white bristles, like hahniana have! It is really a puzzle to me !!!! |

| Hi nickolas, I still think m.hahniana type, because of the sunken apex. Has it flowered ? red/carmine for hahniana or yellowish white for parkinsonii. | |

| n.13: I think it's m. albata v. albata plant described by Reppenhagen. M. albata is compared by Repp with M. leucocentra | |

| Hi nickolas,
There is a possibility that no.13 is m. klissingiana. There is a form that can make quite large heads before producing any offsets, sometimes none. The usual growth of m. klissingiana is to produce apple size plants, which tend to remain spherical. If your plant is quite old, as the size suggest, then for the plants previously suggested, including m.hahniana, I would expect it to have increased in height and be somewhat elongated. Your friends suggestion of m. parkinsonii will make large rounded clumps in time, but by dichotomous divisions, which by now should have happened. Is there any evidence of previous flowers? From your photo there appears to be some signs on the lower left. Sometimes, like m. geminispina, m.klissingiana can be shy to flower. The colour of flowers for m. klissingiana will be pinkish. | |
