Hi Jpsje,

No1 is bocasana and about 10yrs + . It is one plant that has offsets(branches)so I would still call it as one plant, but it has clustered. Although it has remained relatively hairy, a feature of this type, I suspect that it has been grown in the past with less than sufficient sunshine, as the offsets are somewhat elongated.

No2 probably zeilmaniana, should flower very well, with red petals.

Hallo Delando en cacteenfriends,
Thank you so much for the interesting explanation! So I learn something of this hobby. Sometimes I just need Council of experts, and hope that I am not bothering to you. The Bocasana I received from an older person. The Zeilmaniana of a colleague. However, a question: can I treat this old Bocasana as other plants, or should I take into account the age of this plant? Thanks once again!
Joseph

Hi Jpsje,

When you say treat like other plants I assume you mean cacti and the answer is yes. Never treat them like a house plant. Unsure about the pot! Does it have a drainage hole at the base? If not, I would recommend a re-pot into one that has as soon as you can. Always use dry suitable cactus soil when re-potting and don't water until at least a week or two after. If the pot does have a drainage hole then it looks ok for the time being. All cacti at the moment, in most parts of western Europe, are dormant and are being kept dry until the early spring when they can receive their first watering. The most important thing is to make sure they are given enough sunshine throughout the growing season, early spring through to autumn, and they should reward you with plenty of flowers. Don't be afraid to ask more questions. Derek.

Good Morning Derek.
I meet all the requirements that you have defined. Also the pot has a hole in the bottom, and filled with cactus sand mixed with small stones. The ground is airy. At the moment sees the plant looking good, and no specifics.
Have a nice day !
Greetings Joseph.
