this is not a weed - these are wild herbs!
No, just fun - grow cacti in nature in sterile Substrate?
Without other plants in their neighborhood?
OK some do, in the most extreme environmental conditions.

My outdoor-dining plants need the "herbs".
In autumn, when they come into winter quarters - the earth is wet.
The "herbs" continue to grow and consume the water in the substrate.   
I like them, the cacti need them. . .
