I'm going on a limb and wondering if anybody has identified mams grown from seed obtained from Kohres under the following label:

Mamilllaria sp. rep 1140 Xacoalco

The seedlings which issued forth are vigorous, but too young for a formal ID at this point.

Thanks

According to my Reppenhagen field list, Rep 1140 is M. centralifera from Arroyo Seco, Queretaro.

Are you sure it is 1140?

Although the seedlings are still young, their appearance in not inconsistant with M. centralifera

Xacoalco is in the state of Jalisco, south of Guadalajara.
The field numbers that Reppenhagen gave to plants he found in Jalisco were 629 - 652, 806, 1385 - 1382, 1603 - 1623, 2306 - 2311.
I can't see any numbers that might be obviously changed by error to 1140. So a mystery plant, and it'll be interesting to see how your seedlings develop. Where did your seed come from?
Do your seedlings show any hooked spines? One species from around there could be M. jaliscana.

The seeds are from Kohres (http://www.koehres-kaktus.de/shop/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=MAMMILLARIA+sp+Rep+1140+Xacoal&categorie_id=0&x=61&y=9)

The seedlings ar now 1 cm across - they show no hooked spines, but there is some variation in spine color and thickness, ranging from white to ruddy.

We'll see how they turn out. Centralifera still looks likely.

EDIT/ADDENDUM:

Here is a pic of the seedlings:
