| Just browsing and saw this. Only thing I can add is it appears to be a form of karwinskiana which is quite widespread in Oaxaca from where this plant was collected. To tie up with Maurillio's gallery photo yesterday. | |

| Certainly they are not M. oaxacensis, which is the name given to most of the forms of M. albilanata from Oaxaca. I think that Del has the right species, which is pretty clearly identified with the usually present long hairs from the axils. _________________ Chris43, moderator

| Scusa Chris, but the name given to the most of the forms of M.albilanata from Oaxaca is not oaxacana? | |

| It certainly is something from the karwinskiana group, but the plant is much too small to attach a name to it with certainty. You will have to wait till it gets larger and then observe the flowers and whether it divides dichotomously or only forms offsets. My first impression is that it is M. nejapensis, but M. confusa, M. karwinskiana or M. beiselii would also be an option. Without locality data, there will always be a question mark behind its name.

| Addition: San José de Gracia is located near San Pedro Totolapa, which I consider nejapensis territory.

| I just saw a photo on Facebook and I remembered that it was one that we'd discussed some while back and I found it here. Anyway, here's the photo, and it is in flower - not much of a flower really, but different to karwinskiana? _________________ Chris43, moderator
