1 Mammillaria duwei?
A Few More Please? 30_apr10
A Few More Please? 30_apr11
2Mammillaria decipiens? (scuse the spelling if wrong)
A Few More Please? 30_apr12
3 Mammillaria prolifera?
A Few More Please? P1050816
A Few More Please? P1050817
4 and last but by no means least for tonight, Mammillaria laui?
A Few More Please? Mammil10
Thank you in anticipation.

Hi Tiggy,

No1 I'm positive it's not m. duwei, but still unable to give it a name a present.
No2  I'm sure is m. gracilis.
No3 Is a form of m. elongata, with a bit of hybridization with m. microhelia I think.
No4 Because I'm not sure of the pot size, I suggest if it's a small pot maybe m. glassii or a larger pot is probably, as you say, m. laui.
Sorry I can't be more specific.

Hi Tiggy,

More microhelia than elongata in no 3 to my eyes, and I can't give a name to no 1 yet, several options, but has it ever flowered?

With No 4, from the photo it could be either, but tending towards glassii as well, owing to the longer and more flexible, almost hairy spines. Were the flowers deep pink or light pink?

delandmo- Thank you for your input. Re- no.2 I meant to write m.gracilis (don't know why I wrote decipiens, Probably because I have been a bit concerned about that one recently and still had the name on my brain)
Re-no.3 I was uncertain about this one as it is so different from my other elongata as it is clumping quite a lot, much smaller, and flowers totally different colour (which I now know that the flowers vary anyway).

Re-no.4 I think it is in something like 11cm.pot and has the remains of pinkish flowers still. Don't have a photo of them as I have only recently bought it and they had already gone over.  So I imagine it is leaning more to m.laui?  Re-no.1 I guess I will just have to wait until she decides to flower, in the meantime she will just be labelled Mammillaria ? Thank you again for your time.  Tiggy

Chris - Thank you for your information. Re-no1 I have recently bought this one also so have not yet seen the flowers, so guess I will just have to be patient before I can get her Id'd. Re-no4 I think the flowers were a lightish pink but too sure as I have seen only the remains of them as this is also a new one for me. Considering the size of the pot do you still go with glasii? Gosh they are so confusing having so many species that are similar! At least you've both helped narrow down the options for me Thank you both once again for you time and patience.  Tiggy
