| Good morning everyone, on Saturday, June 8, was quite passable weather - sunshine, to thunderstorms in the late afternoon, temperature up to + 26 ° C. Have flourished not only succulents, 54421 54422 I am already happy on the smallest flower, also about this blooming Mammillaria 54428 it takes at least two flowers, Echinocereus 54446 Others have directly exaggerating again. . . Mammillaria 54432 Fright, no, not the Shrek, my camera has slipped from the hands sweat Assen; Result - those little pictures of disoriented Notocactus 54452 Here I tried to remake good camera in the iron grip of image above Escobaria 54465 First time out of the GH, +41 ° C is no fun for the camera, and the sweat that is, not me! Me it can actually not be warm enough. Of outdoor dining, Mammillariamäßig in operation since last week, it goes to a dizzy. Mammillaria 54493 This "Freudenhausrot" of flowers has something, that something beautiful - I think. Mammillaria 54495 Others may also be in red, but not so wickedly. . . Lobivia 54497 Some plant is whether the messages in the short wavelength light spectrum, quite green with envy - the yellow pulls it out again. Astrophythum 54526 Others can then but the springs hang himself in the exhaustion still beautiful. . Astrophytum 54560 To the penultimate, my current piece of jewelry, there are no stupid saying - I think just beautiful. . . Mammillaria thomsonii n.n. ROG 750 54584 To last, entanglement! Since the seedlings are not viewing it yourself through - a little clearer structure of the "thorns" would be desirable! Echinocereus 54607 Nevertheless, best regards K.W.

I don't know if this has been answered already, but could it be Turbinicarpus valdezianus?

| Hi K.W.
I notice in some of your photos, especially those of Helmut Rogozinski, quite large dichotomous branching mammillarias (my favourites), growing in what appears to be very shallow square pots. Or is this an illusion! I find in the UK once you increase the diameter substantially the depth is also substantially increased. Sometimes a problem with shallow rooted species, where it could lead to rot. Are these pots still available now to buy or were they a special commission. Interested to know.
Many Thanks Derek. | |

Many Thanks Derek. No reason to thank Derek! I like to share my experiences and knowledge. We are talking abouth this pots 64896 20 x 20 x 9,5 cm. I'm a fan of square pots! But as you describe, the more the higher. So I was glad to find this flat, large pots. I buy them at Kakteen Uhlig. They are quite expensive, € 3.60 per piece, 100 for 295, - €. and not always available. If I flat pots of around 17 cm need, I cut 18 cm Container to 9.5 cm in height. These containers are much cheaper 18 x 18 cm, 100 pieces 71, - €. The difference is the 20 x 20 cm pots are made of hard plastic. The containers are made of "soft" plastic. The first break easily, the second are only stable when they are penetrated by roots. Best regards and nice weekend! K.W.
