I love your "just Mammillaria" photos K.W.

Can you post photos of any M. compressa you have even if they are not in flower? M. compressa is a very variable species and some of them are very good looking plants that are very easy to grow but usually have few flowers compared to most Mams.

Below are photos of one clone of M. compress I have had for many years. I have broken up the plant many times to keep it from getting two feet across and weighing too much. The spines are very long and tortuous in good growing conditions, shorter with less light as in the smaller plant. They are both the same plant (clone) I got as a cutting in 1982. Pot sizes are 6" and 4". This plant does flower although sparingly.

The large plant has very remarkable thorns! This reinforces my view, Sun is everything!
Light and fresh air are 80% of good care and good growth.
Tomorrow I look for the photos of my M. compressa.
