| Can anyone confirm that these are Coryphantha vivipara? I collected a few specimens from a friend's family ranch in Parker County, TX (on the extreme eastern edge of C. vivipara's natural range). I found a group of 4 individuals within 6-10 inches of one another and 2 other specimens a yard away, and spines/size seems consistent with the species description. The first shows the cacti in situ, the second is a close-up in my garden. Thanks, Cactguy http://cactguy.tumblr.com |

| Yes, these should be Escobaria vivipara although i have not seen plants from Texas. This last plant is almost in bloom! That will happen 2 months later in Canada.. | |

| Yes, C. vivpara indeed. I saw this species in Texas near Sanderson, when travelling down to the Big Bend in 2009. They are pretty widespread in the south west of the state, as I saw them at a number of locations. _________________ Chris43, moderator
