| Mammillaria plumosa Weber in Bois, Diet. Hort., 804 (c. 1897); K. Schum., Gesamt. Kakt., 535. 1898. Densely caespitose and forming mounds to 40 cm, in diameter, individual stems 6-7 cm, across: tubercles cylindric to 21 mm. long, 2-3 mm. wide at base with watery sap: Axils woolly. Spines all radial, about 40, 3-7 mm. long, plumose, white. Flowers about 15 mm. long, whitish; seeds black. MEXICO: Coahuila (border with Nuevo Leon), Mariposa, near Los Muertos, reported by A, Mathsson in Gartenfl. 39 : 465 (1 Sept, 1890); Nuevo Leon, Huasteca Canyon, 26 Feb. 1968, Glass & Foster 596, 605, 609 (living collections) From "The Journal of the Mammillaria Society" Vol.XIII . n. 4 - August 1973 Mammillaria plumosa  Mammillaria plumosa
