| 78. Neomammillaria nunezii sp. nov. Globose to cylindric, 1.5 cm. long, 6 to 8 cm. in diameter; tubercles closely set, short, terete in section, setose in their axils; radial spines white, stiff, about 30, widely spreading; central spines 2 to 4, stout, 10 to 15 mm. long, brown to nearly blackish at tips; fruit 2.5 cm. long, clavate, white or tinged with pink; seeds small, brown. Collected by Professor C. Núñez at Buenavista de Cuellar, Guerrero, Mexico, in 1921 (Nos. 1, 2 and 3), and communicated to us by Octavio Solís. This species is rather variable in habit and spines and is very unlike anything that we have heretofore studied.
