Mammillaria hamata
Reppenhagen offers no real reason for maintaining this dubious name, and the illustration of his offering as this species (REP 957) , doesn't look significantly different from others in the Series Polyacanthae.
Hunt leaves the name in limbo as a provisionally accepted species, but there is a little chance of ever identifying with certainly what was described so long ago.
