Gald you got the plants Ok. The seed for your plants came from Kohres. Hunt places, and the Fitz-Maurice's now agreed, this has a dwarf form of crinita leucantha.

mammillaria tezontle Ml_69010

This is ML 690, seed from Cactus Heaven, sown 30-1-08 and germinated 7-2-08.
The Fitz-Maurice's under took a population study of this form and the they determined the life cycle to be about 4 years in habitat, hence the need to flower early.

These plants are very similar to ML 138, moeller-valdeziana, which Hunt, again places under crinita leucantha.

This is the Fitz-Maurice's collection, WAF 1983. These plants have died, put I was able to save some seed.

Interesting that the Fitzes put the lifecyle in habitat at 4 years. My oldest one of this form is ML138 grown from seed in 2001, as moeller-valdeziana. My oldest tezontle is a plant I bought in 2005, so it must be at least 6 years old now. I hope they don't give up too soon.
