|Subject: Is this Forum giving you what you want? Tue Mar 17, 2009 5:08 pm|| |
We've now been running the Forum for about 9 months or so, and it seems timely to ask you, the members, whether the Forum is working as you want it to?
Does it need to be simplified to make it easier to use? Are there enough active members to keep it going?
If it needs to be improved, then how? Please tell me, and we'll try to make it better.

Is this forum giving me what I want ? Answer MOST CERTAINLY !
Since jointing last year I have increased my interest and knowledge greatly. I have also been able obtain a great many documented seedlings by exchanging plants with other forum members, plants I would not have been able to get any where else, and my collection has almost doubled in size in the last year.
You have done a good job to keep it going, it was a great shame to lose Hugo but the forum must go on. Hopefully, as spring starts our plants into growth and flowering, more forum members will take a more active part because in the end you only get out of something what you put in.
Has for improvments....you could possibly lose some of the headings such has All mamm names, Books & References, Non familier mamm names, New mamm / descripitons found since 2000. Most of these subjects could be talked about under the various other headings, but this is just minor stuff.
Keep up the good work and don't let the B******* get you down !

I am not a very active member of this forum because I am not a specialist Mammillaria-grower but just a cactus grower with some special interest in Mammillaria. I am more active in 2 general forums (BCSS and a belgium forum). However I do like to have a regular look at the items in this forum. In my opinion it is very easy to use. More active members would be very nice but you can't force people to do so.
I agree with the suggestions given by Mark on possible improvements.
