This is in a friend's collection, in Coventry. Taken 17-5-08. Described has solitary, this plant is on its OWN roots.

A close up of the heads. I was to early in the day and the flowers hadn't fully opened.

The chap said that he had had this plant for over 25 years and had used it to produce seed from which he had grown many more plants. The seed has also appeared on the BCSS seedlist in the past. I took a shot of some of his 'seedlings'. He grows them in these long/deep clay pots which he had made.

Hugo, magnificent flowers! My plants haven't been blossoming for the last three years. I don't know what is the reason of it.
Tam, this plant is incredible! I have never seen such old M. napina before
