Good evening dear cacti friends,

another forum is about the pros and cons of "pure mineral substrate".
Some argue that it would be torment for the plants to live in the substrate without organic components.
Not my opinion. . . But have some photos that show my tortured plantlets. . .

"by my standards, pure mineral substrate is the best way to care for my cacti.
This gives me the best control over moisture and fertilization.
As you can see, the plants are not perfect - but I'm working on it. . . "

Beautiful KW, except for the snail -  always trouble makers.

WRONG!

They eat dried plant waste.

If you have some dried leaves or similar in the garden.

They do not cause any problems!
These spiral snails are not pests!

Good evening dear cacti friends,

Another forum discussed whether big cacti thrive in purely mineral substrates?
I think all cacti and almost all succulents grow very well in pure mineral substrate.
In some hot areas, Tucson Az. sunny , it can be convenient to add water-binding supplements.
But not because of the plants, because of the gardeners. . . Smile Wink
