I think you are right, Maurillio. I looked closely at the central spines, mostly 2 BOTH hooked. M. pennispinosa only has 1 hooked, and if it has more they are like the radials, not brown.

It is fantastic, not only you help me identify my plants, but you teach me to recognize them.
