Dr Bill Maddams RIP

Dr Bill Maddams died at his home on the morning of 13th January, aged 87 years.

Bill was a co-founder of the Mammillaria Society, and its Chair for over 50 years, and Editor until his death. He was active within the BCSS, and Chair of the Conservation Committee.

He will be missed.

A dear friend and fellow club member @ North Surrey branch of the BCSS. I will certainly miss him, his passion for the hobby and insistence of abiding by the rules at committee meetings.

Sad to read that Bill has died. He did an awful lot of work for the Mammillaria Society. I have met him a few times, when I was in England to give a talk for the Mammillaria Society. On one of those occasions I even had the privilige of visiting his collection and see some very old mammillarias.
