I am new to collecting cacti, succulents, and new to the Mammillaria too. I love them all. I came here because 3 of my mams are blooming. It is wintertime where I am! I live in a Mediterranean climate and our weather is more warmer then normal currently. Mammillarias seem to be a popular cacti too.

I have M. celsiana, M. elegans (in bloom), M. gracilis fragilis (in bloom), M. hahniana (in bloom), and M. spinosissima. I plan to add to this collection.

I love this hobby. I have some photos. The flowers are still small.

I do not yet know how to post the photos - but will when I figure it out.

Thank you

Another welcome to the forum Cactusmac and one from California too. I'm about 20 miles north of San Francisco. Where is your home? There are no finer plants or cacti than Mammillarias. Be sure to watch K.W.s daily posting of his beautiful cacti in "Other Collections" on the forum. He grows plants to die for.

Thanks K.W. and Steve.

Steve, I am in the Los Angeles area - about 20 miles south of downtown LA. We are blessed with wonderful weather here. I love your avatar with the cat in the cast iron skillet. A cat lover here.

Look forward to seeing K.W. plants.

I forgot to mention that I found out this site from the Mammillaria's.net website. It is a very informative site.

Hi, posting photos is easy, but there are some more steps involved than I, and many others, would like. If you have problems, please ask, the guide was written a while ago, so let m know by pm, and I'll try to help you over any issues.

Thank you. I tried a number of times and each time it did not work. The process is not intuitive to me. But it is okay. The weather has cooled and the mams flowers stopped opening up. I was hoping for a nice ring of big flowers around them. I got a few nice little flowers though. It was nice, though, as they were blooming now during the holidays - along with the Christmas cactus. Would have made a nice display.

I will try again later to post photos. If i have the same problems, i will pm. thank you.

Thanks Barbara. I love this hobby. Much enjoyment with all the mams and other plants too!

My three bloomers are even better today. I will post on these a little later on. I am excited. Happy holidays all.
