Echenocactus (Golden Barrel)

This cactus is very very old (I have two 'mother'-plants of the same size) The mother plant was growing in my parents garden for many years - his passed it on to me 15 years ago - i planted in a pot and the babies were start growing. It grows on my front stoep and is a beautiful focus point in my front garden.

What a beautiful plant, it would be wonderful to be able to grow such plants out of door! But nt in our cold and damp British winters!

All my cacti are growing outdoors. Hot summers and wet winters - i believe in good drainage to prevent rotting.
