mammillaria, by john pilbeam - pag 206
about mammillaria neopalmeri:
central spines from 3 to 5, usually 4, are stronger, needle-like, brownish with darker tips, stright!

in my collection there are m.neopalmeri from carlo zanovello "il sole rarità botaniche" with hooked central spines.
other plants from uhlig-kakteen with stright central spines.
the last two from "vivaio autore" with hooked central spines.

are all of them mammillaria neopalmeri?

this from uhlig-kakteen with stright c.s.

mammillaria neopalmeri 4342-210

I think that they could be neopalmeri. I have never been to Baja, but species like dioica and albicans can be found with hooked spines and also with straight spines, so I don't see why there may not be hooked spined forms of this species.
