Hi, Joma.

Your cactus misses light very much. They all need at least several hours direct sun light a day during the growing period. Otherwise start changing theirs natural look, getting elongated and spineless like this plant. After that become weak and die. So you should keep it in cool place if not enough light is available in winter or dormant period.

It could be a Mammillaria but it is probably a Parodia sp. because I don't see any axils and mammillas are alined in ribs. Also south American cacti tend to grow in winter at warm conditions that is not the case with most Mexican ones.

Take care!

I think I can see some evidence of axils, but because, as agrippa has said, your plant is so lacking in light, it is almost impossible to identify.

If you can, bring it into a much sunnier position, but do it gradually, over a 2 week period, increasing the amount of light each day. This will help the plant adapt, otherwise it could have too big a shock.
