I just ordered some mammalaria seeds from Mesa Gardens last Friday. In this order is
albilanataCuicatlan
bocasana f. multilanata
carmenae
centraliplumosa
compressa
glassii
guelzowiana
nivosa
parkinsonii perbella
plumosa

I am hoping these will be here within the next two weeks. There would still be plenty of time for them to begin to grow wouldn't there be? I don't have grow lights but put the seeds I plant on a counter where they get bright light with no direct sunshine. I have used both seed trays and pots to germinate in. Still waiting patiently to see how both methods do.
Thanks for any advice you can give to me. study
Wendy

Normally it's a bit too late for sowing, Wendy. If you will sow them now, they will germinate, but they're gonna be probably not strong enough to get trough the winter. Speaking for myself, I start to sow in november under "grow lights" and the second time in february (also under "grow lights"). At the end of april they move to a shaded place in the greenhouse were they can grow easely. My grow lights are in fact no grow lights, just what we call a TL light tube from 30 watt. I put the pots with seeds in a closed box and the temperatures stay around 26°C ( the light tube, which is built in the box, gives a bit of warmth). I also use the baggy method. You can read more about this method in the forthcoming topic about sowing.
