some plants presents white central spines, other brown central spines.......

Nice seedlings, interesting degree of variation, I've not seen quite as much before with this species, though I know that plants do differ.

When I saw M. longiflora at Coneto Pass in 2005, I was struck by the differenc ein the flower colour. Some flowers were almost completely pink with a darker stripe, and some had very wide white edges. Some were darker than others as well.

Has anyone found the same with any of the northern forms of M. longiflora, SB1917 and SB1937. SB calls these v. stampferi but they are not, just a northern form of the type.
