Hello,

I'm new here. I'm living in France where I grow cactius and succulents on a balcony. They grow outside all over the year and I protect them from the rain.

For my first post, I need your help to identify this MAMMILLARIA:

Thanks for your help.

I moved to Israel from Los Angeles in 1981. My work was landscape design and I had hundreds of xerophytes. Now I am slowly rebuilding my collection...

I must say, one frustrating thing about cactus in Israel is ...

This was in full bloom at Tanque Verde nursery

and this M. guerreronis also

And at Bach's Cactus nursery these great plants:

M. formosa

and M. baumii

next was M. lenta

then a few smaller plants (!)

and finally a modest (!!) M. crucigera

Fantastic....let alone all the other plants at each and every place.

This spring I was for the first time in my life in Tucson, Arizona. It was unbelievable! Most of the cacti have finished their flowering time, but some was shortly before. On a field trip I found some early bloomer Mammillaria grahamii. It was a really great moment in my life. That was the first bloom cacti that I've seen in habitat.

Hello,

my name is Ralf and I'm 42 years old. I'm living in Germany and collect cacti more than 20 years. Mammillaria is one of my favorite genus but not the only one I like specially. My first contact with cacti was very early in my life. My Mom collected some in the window and I'm had got the spines in my fingers. Maybe I was 8 years old or so. That was my infection for this hobby.

Now I found this forum by chance and I'm thinking "why don't you registered there" and now I've done.

I purchased both these plants unlabelled at a local garden center. Over on the Yahoo Cacti & Succulents Group we've sort of narrowed things down to "probably M. bocasana" ...maybe one or both being "var. roseiflora"

I'm still not having any luck using the www.server "host process" so here are links to the images over on Flickr. I know these two affectionately as Plants Nos. 00038 ans 00039

I've had the folks over at the Cactus & Succulents Yahoo Group working on this one, but we all have to date is really that this is NOT a "Mammillaria hahniana cv. woodsii" as I had thought -- no downiness in evidence.

I haven't yet figured out how to include images in post here in this forum. I think I can manage to include a couple of links to pics over on my Flickr pages.

Hello everibody

Few days ago I bought (by post) some Mamms from a nursery near Torino.

Among this a pair of M. angelensis var. estebanensis K309, but the two plant are a little bit differents. One have all the areoles with a central spine hooked.

Do you think they can be the same plant? and, do you think they are really M. estebanensis?
